I finally got the magazine. The only place that had it was Books a Million in the mall. They didn't have them in bags but I wasn't worried cause only old people go there anyway. It took like ten minutes to enter the key cause I had to decipher the stupid smeary letters and numbers and it kept saying it was an invalid key. But I finally worked it out >_<

Congrats Knightsaber!

I also had trouble deciphering the chicken scratchs they called a code key.
Maybe they waited until the last possible moment to place these for security reasons.

I got one at a Barne's and Noble in Denver (vacationing there). Looks like we should be able to pop it out during the event this weekend, then it'll poof until NF is re-opened for good.

There was some pretty good info in the cover-story article of NF. I could see some veiled admissions from Strain that Factions was a letdown.

The mag was $7.99 (it was printed on the cover). Considering a 12 month subscription is $18 AND you get two extra issues (compilations of reviews and a cheats galore edition), that's not a bad deal if you only need 2 per year.

Got my mag, created a paragon, did the quests, got the pet. Got bored with the paragon, deleted him and created a dervish. Tryed to retype /bonusitems on the dervish to get the pet quest back. No luck. Hope I haven't screwed myself over post-nightfall.

I'm wondering if it's also a problem if you, say: Type /bonusitems, get the quest, then decide you don't want to undertake it just yet, abandon quest and delete the broken toy. Would that screw you over, too? For future reference, of course, if anyone has had the displeasure of accidently testing that one out, too?

Hoping it's just a flat restart. As in, none of this ever happened, like a rollback, except Nightfall-only. After release, I'd suggest everyone be super-careful what they do with their quest and minipet... so maybe now's a good time to experiment with what not to do.

I'd assume they'd only allow one per account so you wouldn't continually make new characters for the purpose of selling multiple pets. However, since there was no storage in the preview, hopefully the people who have used the key already aren't going to get screwed over.

Thats over a month old now. We've already had another issue released, and inside where it talks about whats out in the following issue to come it makes no mention of GW. Neither does PC Gamer.

I personally think Anets rep who said other countries would be doing similar promo events was talking crap and had nothing concrete as a basis.

...And all the other relevent posts I wont quote...

The Guild Wars website, AND the PC Gamer Mag itself say that upon release you'll be able to re-spawn the Broken Toy with /bonusitems and do the quest again for Grey Giant.

For the quoted person only - If you delete a bonus Minipet under normal circumstances (the giant, kuunavang, etc) you will NOT be able to retrieve them again. You just got lucky this time because the codes reset and upon release you'll get another chance.

You can still get it when Retail goes live. Even if you did get it during the preview it would have been deleted like the rest of the stuff on those characters.
